Anthony Joshua 

Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua is a professional boxer from England and has won the unified heavyweight championship two times. Born on 15 October 1989, he has achieved titles between the years 2016 and 2019. These include IBO, WBO, IBF, and super WBA. He has also won the Commonwealth and British heavyweight titles around 2014.  

Anthony Joshua has also won a silver medal at the 2011 AIBA World Boxing Championship in the heavyweight division. In 2012 Olympics, he won the gold title by representing Great Britain. The Ring Magazine named him as the Prospect of the Year in 2014 due to his victorious fights in boxing. He has won a world title and a gold medal at the Olympics for his victories in heavy weightlifting.  

Joshua has been titled as the world’s best active heavyweight last month by BoxRec. The Ring magazine and Transnational Boxing Ranking Board has ranked Joshua second-best active boxer.  

He has defeated five heavyweight champions. These include Joseph Parker, Charles Martin, Alexander Povetkin, Wladimir Klitschko, and Andy Ruiz Jr. He has also defeated 3 other global heavyweight boxers including Carlos Takam, Dillian Whyte, and Dominic Breazeale.  

Early Career  

Joshua began boxing at an early age of 18 in 2007 and won the Haringey Box Cup in 2009 and 2010. He turned down an offering of £50,000 as he wanted to pursue his career in boxing as a professional. He won a spot in GB Amateur Boxing Championship and later in European Amateur Boxing Championships in 2011. Joshua took his career on a global level and won a silver medal by fighting against Olympic and World Champions in boxing.

Anthony Joshua has a long list of girlfriends as he has dated Faryal Makhdoom, Bella Hadid, Rita Ora, Cara Delevingne and others. He has a son with Nicole Obsburne with whom he is no longer in connection.  

Personal Life and Scandals  

Besides boxing, Joshua has a keen interest in chess and reading that taught him the tactical skills needed for his career. Before boxing, he was a full-time bricklayer.  

He was put on remand in Reading Prison for behaving uncivil. Also, he was made to wear an electronic tag after his release in 2009. Joshua was also charged for having the intention of supplying a class B drug and so was sentenced to a community order.
